Francis Lovel Sporting - Experience Deer Stalking

No previous experience required all inclusive just turn up!

Francis Lovel & Co are pleased to offer guided stalking with a Professional stalking instructor to enable you to gain valuable field experience in deer management or just to sample this exhilarating form of hunting.

  • All days are run in a traditional manner and a normal day would run as follows:
  • 1300 hrs Arrive at the shop for firearm familiarisation, safety briefing, and species identification over refreshments.
  • 1430 Target practice: drive a short distance to target area to practice with selected rifle to gain experience in safe gun handling and marksmanship.
  • 1600 The stalk: Most shooting will be done from a two man high seat with your instructor seated next to you giving clear direction.
  • The cull: After culling the animal you will be taken through the correct way to "Gralock" the carcass and process it for the game dealer
  • Depart. Every outing you will receive a certificate of competence and joint of venison to enjoy with friends.
Price: £150 for a full half day with the instructor, all equipment hire 20 practice shots, and venison to enjoy at home with friends. All dear shot are charged at an additional £50 for cull animals trophy animals are available on request.

For regular deer stalkers

Francis Lovel & Co are now offering the opportunity to stalk fallow, roe and muntjac on some of the finest sporting estates in and around the Cotswolds. We have stalking on over 2500 acres of forest and farmland throughout the Cotswolds, which can produce some very exciting sport.

All our outings are fully guided with a professional stalker. The use of rifles and supply of ammunition can be arranged, complying with current legislation. We offer outings for all level of sportsman from someone with little or no experience to a well travelled hunter. (For those with little to no experience we have our Experience deer stalking half day course - see below).

For those with more experience we can offer some great management stalking on local estates which also can offer some fantastic trophy heads. There is an outing fee of £80 and a success fee starting from £50. This can a great way to enjoy one of the oldest forms of countryside management
